Abstract

Within the frame of the EUROTRAC project and in collaboration with ENEL/C.R.T.N. of Milan, a research activity aiming at a meteorological interpretation of samples of trace chemical compounds collected in alpine glaciers started. With reference to that, availing ourselves of a wind data set coming from the ECMWF analysis, backward air trajectories arriving at three alpine sites six hours for five years (1981-1985) have been computed. The origin of the trajectories at various distances has been evidentiated through their partition in sectors and in altitude.
