Abstract

Leptin is an adipocyte-secreted hormone and plays an important role in the regulation of energy homeostasis by the inhibition of food intake. Recently a positive correlation between leptin concentration and skinfold thickness has been found in prepubertal and pubertal girls. Evidences about the relation between leptin and subcutaneous fat mass in infancy are scanty.
