Abstract

The vitality and sustainability of a territory is achieved with the enhancement of its historical “roots” (historical-industrial foundations), but also and above all with the innovation of what is “new”. The real challenge for the economy of our territory is being able to link the “old” with the “new”, not a mere coexistence, but the former used as a lymph for the latter. This premise leads to the research question which is how the industrial patrimony can become a sort of fly-wheel for those individuals who need to generate/consolidate the outlook of their own business model. These research hypotheses have been analysed by means of a simulation model, based on computational agents, developed by the authors within the IcxT L@B. A proposition of an “itinerary” where it is possible to retrace the entrepreneurial history, locate the old establishments (narrating their entrepreneurial tradition) and highlight new (successful) firms.
