The financial crisis, which since 2007 hitting Europe seems to have two effects: it intervenes in the social policies of the State and consequently it led to a loss of values in society.From the legal point of view, as the consideration of this dual negative effect emerges the problem of human dignity, as a matter of integrating the role and relationship between the state and citizens. The analysis will, therefore, from a particular field research at the General Commissioner for the Protection of Fundamental Rights (Ombudsman) in Budapest,in the light of which offer some considerations on the impact of the crisis on the level of legal guarantees offered by national states.
