This book is intended to be a practical reference for students, residents, fellows and attending surgeons engaged in the treatment of patients who have undergone hip replacement surgery. The text uses “how to” approach for many of the complex issues in total hip arthroplasty. It is devoted to issues relating to primary total hip arthroplasty – from simple to the most complex. The first part of the book includes surgical approaches and outlining tips and pearls during the surgical procedure. Part of chapters emphasizes topics such as limb length, instability and position/orientation of the implant, type of fixation. The last part of the chapters shows “how to” perform primary total hip replacement in different types of arthritis, post-traumatic, DDH, post-osteotomies and post-arthrodesis.
