Drawing on the most original aspects of the philosophical heritage of the Enlightenment, from Locke to d'Alembert, Turgot, Voltaire and the Physiocrats, Condorcet was able to link his own revolutionary action to the political program of the most liberal elements of the movement of the Philosophes.
