In the last decades, countless works have been dedicated to the definition and analysis of the notion of emergence. In this article, I focus on three monographs recently written by three metaphysicians and philosophers of science, Paul Humphreys (2016), Carl Gillett (2016) and Jessica Wilson (forthcoming), and I outline their models, together with the criteria considered fundamental for their formulation.
