Since May 1981 600 patients submitted to major neurosurgical operations were treated with the clindamycin-gentamycin association, administered at the beginning of the anesthesia and repeated three times after during a 24 hours period. Post-operatory infection was noticed in 16 cases (2.6%), but only in 4 cases (0.6%) the responsible microorganism was identified by subcutaneous drainage of CSF culture.

Abstract
