The Semi-Linear Ordering principle for continuous functions (SLOW) is one of the most useful tools for studying the Wadge hierarchy, and says that A is continuously reducible to B or the complement of B is continuously reducible to A, for any two sets A,B R. We survey some old and new results on SLOW and Wadge degrees.
