Quality of Service (QoS) for processes that compose bothWeb Services and multimedia streaming objects poses new research challenges for global quality assurance. An integrated approach is proposed for quality definition, contracts, and monitoring, based on two layers of service delivery: Web Service for coordinating service composition and real time objects (videos, voice, images and pictures) for multimedia content provisioning. The proposed framework allows modeling, monitoring and predicting QoS faults, based on an ontological definition of quality dimensions, and on a machine-learning approach. Optimization techniques for Real Time Service Provisioning (RTSP) are studied; moreover, adaptation and repair actions are defined to manage QoS faults.
