Abstract

In order to monitor variations of Xenopus laevis integument during the adaptation to brackish water, 32 females of Xenopus have been studied. The flask cells partecipate actively to the osmoregulatory processes, the secretion of the mucous glands intervenes in respiratory activity and, probably, in the osmoregulation of Xenopus laevis
