During a search in the mineralogical and geological historical collections of the University of Turin, some rusty fragments of a iron-alloy were found in an old envelope. These samples were accompanied by a letter, originally signed by the Major, reporting the fall of a meteorite of unknown nature during 1935 in Montemagno, a small country town near Asti, in NorthWest Italy. The fragments were reported at that time as belonging to the original meteoritic mass. Small portions of these supposed meteoritic iron alloys were studied and analyzed with SEM-EDS and ICP-OES techniques in order to determine their composition. A true meteoritic origin of these samples is suggested by preliminary results joined with historical documentation.

Abstract
A true meteoritic origin of these samples is suggested by preliminary results joined with historical documentation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
