Abstract

The Authors present a first level tool for ergonomic validation of workplace for the prevention of the biomechanical overload repetitive strains. The method is an operative checklist for the analysis and evaluation of the risk factors showed in the literature affecting the analyzed workplace. In case of negative result, the method marks the cause (e.g. inadequate tools, worker's anthropometric characteristics, modality of work) for orienting preventing strategies. The model, tested in many types of large and medium industries, permits to industrial engineers to make quickly and cheaply an ergonomic evaluation of single industrial unit and to define a priority scale of intervention, scheduling the following preventive actions
