The kinetics of complete oxidation of p-xylene on a commercial palladium catalyst under the steady-state and nonsteady-state conditions was studied in detail. A low rate that adequately describes the experimental data was derived. The reaction proceeds according to the adsorption mechanism over the entire temperature range examined.
