Abstract
In this contribution, Conti stresses the multiplicity and dynamic character of development paths that are unlikely to be subject to universal and deterministic laws. Nevertheless, the capacity of a city to find alternative development paths is highly dependent on the variety of local institution. Starting from these realities, it is possible to rethink the image of Turin as a manufacturing centre. A new description has emerged that highlights, alongside the area’s traditional strong sectors, other specializations and activities that constitute important factors of diversification. The transition towards new policy tools is therefore based on a systematic strategy of co-operation . This regards the systems (clusters) already deeply embedded in the local economy such as Design and Engineering, Machine Tools, Robotics and Industrial Automation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
