The authors in this short communication describe a study to determine whether antioxidant capacity is a reliable marker in the evaluation of transport stress in veal calves transported by road. Fifty calves aged between one and two months were purchased in Rumilly, France, and transported by road to Centallo, northern Italy, over a distance of approximately 330 km, a journey which took five hours.
