Recent measurements have shown an unexpected anomaly in the antineutron-proton elastic cross section below 100 MeV/c. The possibility of measuring the antiproton-proton elastic cross section, for which a similar behaviour is expected, at the CERN machine AD is outlined. The proposed detector (ELAPP) is made by a multi-layered array of scintillating fibers, with a Flash ADC read-out.

Abstract
