The first part of Jacob Bernoulli's Ars Conjectandi, with C. Huygens's "De ratiociniis in ludo aleae" is here translated into Italian and placed in a wide historical perspective. In translating we have taken into account, besides the original Latin edition, the German, French and English versions. Interpretations, comments and sometimes new elaborations of Huygens and Bernoulli's writings are added to the historical text.

Abstract
