The rearrangement of cyclohexanone oxime to caprolactam over zeolites with MFI and FAU structures was investigated using IR and computational methods. IR was used to investigate the diffusion of the reactant into the zeolite, its interaction with acid sites and its rearrangement. The main species participating in the reaction were identified. H-bond interaction, proton transfer and rearrangement were detected.
