The objective of this paper is to revisit the business model of the Regional Financial Institution through the presentation of the Italian case study and the comparative analysis of the related sector. The research has revealed a potentially strategic sector in the current economic time, but characterized by the presence of actors with multiple elements of heterogeneity (in terms of, for example, mission, governance, nature of the service provided , etc..): the most important objective of this contribute is to propose - through a comparative analysis of the underlying referential sector - a review of the Regional Financial Institution’s business model.
