The inhibitory effect of some glycosaminoglycanes on the crystal growth rate of calcium oxalate monohydrate was examined using the Constant Composition Technique (CCT). The calcium oxalate monohydrate was employed as a model of dental calculus. The better result among the studied compounds was obtained with N-carboxymethyl-Chitosan, habitually used as humectant and antiplaque, which could be employed as synergizant of anticalculus tooth-pastes

Abstract
