In this paper, I first analyze the sources and the secondary literature consulted by Peano during his studies on Leibniz; reconstruction of this information has been possible due to the recent discovery of Peano’s personal library. Next, I examine the second edition of the Formulaire de mathématiques (1898–1899), where for the first time excerpta of Leibniz’s manuscripts on logic and arithmetic were published; I consider in particular Peano’smarginalia and the additions and corrections due to his team of collaborators. Finally, I describe the reception in Italy of Leibniz studies by G. Vacca, G. Vailati, A. Natucci and L. Couturat, members of Peano’s School, on the basis of their correspondence and of contemporary Italian periodicals.

Abstract
Couturat, members of Peano’s School, on the basis of their correspondence and of contemporary Italian periodicals.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
