Results are reported for kinetic studies of the photolysis at wavelength > 340 nm of atrazine in the presence of dissolved humic substances. The results indicate a 3-fold enhancement with respect to water of the degradation rate in the presence of 10 Ppm of organic carbon. A literature survey on chemical and photochemical degradation of atrazine in abiotic conditions is used to discuss the experimental findings.
