The effect of chlorine on the photocatalytic degradation of 2-chlorophenol and the herbicide atrazine has been investigated. Whereas no variation in the final products formation (CO2 for 2-chlorophenol and cyanuric acid for atrazine) is observed, the rate of degradation is affected, being faster at higher chlorine concentration (in particular for 2-chlorophenol) and unaffected or even slightly inhibited at low chlorine content (3-10x10-4 M).

Abstract
The effect of chlorine on the photocatalytic degradation of 2-chlorophenol and the herbicide atrazine has been investigated. Whereas no variation in the final products formation (CO2 for 2-chlorophenol and cyanuric acid for atrazine) is observed, the rate of degradation is affected, being faster at higher chlorine concentration (in particular for 2-chlorophenol) and unaffected or even slightly inhibited at low chlorine content (3-10x10-4 M).File in questo prodotto:
