Montanina and Mezzalina populations were characterized from a genetic point of view by the analysis of blood and milk polymorphisms and were also compared with the Modicana breed, already studied in this respect. The results show a very high degree of genetic resemblance among the three populations, indicating that they can in fact be considered a single breed, despite the phenotypical differences observed.

Abstract
Montanina and Mezzalina populations were characterized from a genetic point of view by the analysis of blood and milk polymorphisms and were also compared with the Modicana breed, already studied in this respect. The results show a very high degree of genetic resemblance among the three populations, indicating that they can in fact be considered a single breed, despite the phenotypical differences observed.File in questo prodotto:
