This paper introduces a model of structural equations apt to describe the links between the different aspects of quality related to the environmental conditions of a medical structure. According to the evaluation expressed by the patients of a geriatrics rehabilitation hospital on environmental, hygienic and food aspects, the aim is to ratify the causal relationships between the latent variables of the model and, at the same time, to provide for a dimension of quality perceived by the patient. The model is primarily based on the graphic representation of the path-analysis for the study of causal models. The coding of the resulting graph in the structural equation system has been carried out according to the symbology used by the Lisrel software which was consequently used for the data elaboration.
