Regularity conditions for the Legendre transformation which allows to switch from the "purely-metric" to the "purely-affine" formulation of relativistic electrodynamics are examined. Lagrangians which are regular for the stated transformations are completely classified. Examples are given both of regular and non-regular Lagrangians.

Abstract
