Internationalization is a complex , not linear and reversible process. The decades that came before 1914 witnessed a widespread process of globalization. Instead, in the interwar years the international cooperation broke down. There was a new period of globalization, the so-called “Golden Age”, after World War II. In this essay I examine, from the entrepreneurs’ angle, how Turin was able to catch up with these international economic trends in the first hundred years since the Italian Unification. Here I outline the main trends of the process enabling Turin to keep up with the most advanced countries: geographic proximity, supranational cultural models, international networks, Schumpeterian entrepreneurs.

Abstract
Internationalization is a complex , not linear and reversible process. The decades that came before 1914 witnessed a widespread process of globalization. Instead, in the interwar years the international cooperation broke down. There was a new period of globalization, the so-called “Golden Age”, after World War II. In this essay I examine, from the entrepreneurs’ angle, how Turin was able to catch up with these international economic trends in the first hundred years since the Italian Unification. Here I outline the main trends of the process enabling Turin to keep up with the most advanced countries: geographic proximity, supranational cultural models, international networks, Schumpeterian entrepreneurs.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
