To achieve this study we chose Oliver’s climatic classification of genetic basis (1970) and used the compilation "Normais Climatológicas do Brasil 1961-1990" (INMET, 2009). We superimposed on Venn diagrams the monthly temperature and precipitation data from 110 Brazilian weather stations. The preliminary results, summarized in a chart, show the great climatic variability of Brazil and provide valuable information about regional climatic types which do not appear on classics studies of Andrade (1972) and Strahler (1989). Undoubtedly, the rhythm analysis proposed by Monteiro (1971) when applied to any number of climatic researches done in and of Brazil (Zavattini, 2004) will further extend the results highlighted in this preliminary study. In the near future, we intend to lead a supplementary research, more comprehensive than this one, both in Brazil and Italy.
