The aim of the work was to characterize pubescent oak populations from Piedmont and Aosta Valley, from both ecological and genetic points of views. In such a way it is possible to identify Regions of Provenance for the species, according to the European Directive 1999/105. The analysis allowed us also to evaluate the effect of presence of other Quercus species (namely English and sessile oak) on genetic characters of pubescent oak individuals.
