Abstract

Determining analyte concentrations is essential for a wide range of applications, including high-throughput drug screening, disease diagnosis and treatment, quality control, and environmental monitoring. The research in the field of biosensors, amperometric biosensors in particular, was initiated by Clark whose study on oxygen electrode was published in 1956 (Clark 1956). Since then electrochemical biosensors have been widely used to determine the analyte concentrations, both in research and commercial applications.
