Diagnosis is an essential step in the process of making robust complex systems and in particular Multi-Agent Systems (MASs). This Chapter reviews the most important model-based techniques to diagnosis of MASs that have been proposed over the last decade. Since the term MAS refers to a wide range of systems, the Chapter focuses on MASs that can be represented as Multi-Agent Plans (MAPs), and categorizes the approaches to diagnosis of MAPs along different dimensions. Two features are particularly important to characterize the examined methodologies: the MAP model, which can either be implicit or explicit, and the notions of diagnosis (i.e., social, plan, or agent diagnosis). This categorization enables a direct comparison between the different solutions highlighting their advantages and disadvantages, as well as their similarities. The Chapter ends with some remarks about future developments on Model-Based Diagnosis (MBD) applied to MAPs.
