This study examines the possibility to combine a series of precipitation and temperature figures gathered from two different weather monitoring stations installed in Piedmont at different times. This requirement ensues from the necessity to have a sufficient amount of long series to carry out studies on climate changes in Piedmont. Several tests have been carried out on the data recorded by two networks during a simultaneous period of operation in 26 resorts for precipitations and in 15 resorts for temperatures. Only 11 resorts turned out to be suitable for combining precipitation series, while in no case it was possible to match temperature series. For each suitable station, through statistical criteria, it was possible to find out the years of combination of precipitation series, in order to be able to consider the whole measurement period with no heterogeneous parameters.
