Summary The purpose of this study is to find a method for explosive strength training in pre-pubertal and pubertal ages, as they are periods, in which bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments and cartilages are very sensitive to overloading and consequently greater the risk of damage caused by a type of plyometric training. The protocol comprises active exercises of ballistic stretching for the muscles mainly involved in karate training. The tests which were carried out on the athletes at the beginning and end of the experiment focused both on the explosive strength and joint mobility. The results demonstrates the efficacy of the protocols as to the jump tests proves significant improvements of force of prompt.
