The goal of our study is to test the effectiveness of a life-skills program in reducing the alcohol use in early adolescence. The sample is composed of 159 students, attending middle school (age 11.14; SD=.40), 50% boys, 45% belonging to treatment group and 55% to the control group. The treatment group took part in the IPSY program, which is a life-skills program, during the first year of middle school. One year after the implementation of intervention, treatment group showed to be more attached to the school than the control group. Moreover, they drank wine less frequently than control group. This result suggests that life-skills program in school could be a good way to prevent risk behaviors in adolescence.
