Lo spazio geografico dell'economia finanziaria

The first part of the paper looks into the processes that brought about the change of the capitalism, at the present marked out by the predominance of the financial economy, which performance doesn't keep with the real economy any more. The second section tries to give evidence of the mentioned processess through the investigation of the investments of portfolio, paying attention to the amount of the IP and their chances and constraints in the development of the economic system. Particularly the analisys of the flows of the IP stresses the concentration of the financial capital in a few areas of the developed countries, and points out the growth of financial macro regions that, regardless of the geographical contiguity, are set apart on the basis of the institutional rules and of the features of the financial system. The last section gives attention to the task of the economist and geographers to set up models of capital flows.
