Ecosistemi, indicatori e sostenibilità: nuove chiavi di lettura per il territorio

The article focalises on a short exposition of the new knowledge regarding ecosystem properties and dynamics. By joining this new level of ecological understanding to the geographic reflection, it is possible to introduce deeper and in-depth representation of the territory, that are able to consider the spatial dimension that characterises the concept of ecosystem. These schemes of interpretation make possible geographic analyses of the questions regarding the environment and the sustainable development. These are able to take into account both the complexity of the socioeconomic relationships and that characterising the environmental component of a territory.
