La prova finale per il conseguimento della laurea in Infermieristica: studio trasversale

The bachelor’s course in Nursing ends with a final exam including a practical test and a dissertation. The current law only indicates the number of assessors in the commission, thus leaving universities free to choose how to conduct the exam. In 2011, we administered a questionnaire to 152 Italian nursing schools, in order to study the examination criteria for the final exam. 112 schools returned the questionnaire. 60 of them considered the marks scored by the students in both their theoretical and stage exams; 7 schools only considered the theoretical exams. 60 did not require cutoff marks. Erasmus experiences contributed to the final score in 18 schools, top marks in 40. Many different types of examination were in use for practical tests, and several type of dissertations were accepted. The current situation is far from the principles of the Bologna Process. The National conference can play an important role in standardizing both criteria and assessment methods for the final exam.
