Abstract

This paper investigates five collocation dictionaries of the Italian language considering their microstructure, their most salient (meta)lexicographic features and the user perspective. In particular, the focus is on verb-noun collocations, which appear to the educated speaker as more limited in combinability than noun-adjective or verb-adverb collocations. Some observations will be made regarding the criteria for selecting restricted collocations in the teaching of Italian as a foreign language
