Exploitation of forest genetic resources: Regions of Provenance for Small-leaved Lime and Large-leaved Lime. Small-leaved Lime (Tilia cordata Mill.) and Large-leaved Lime (Tilia plathyphyllos Scop.) are important forest tree belonging to peculiar and threatened ecosystems, where they form mixed populations with other deciduous trees. Biological, ecological and genetic aspects are described, mainly with the aim to contribute for a rationale management of genetic resources of the species, also considering the current legislation on forest reproductive material.
