Since the year 2000 an increasing number of words coming from different domains such as science, technology, politics, sociology and the media have brought about changes in the lexis of economy which no longer shows clear-cut boundaries. In particular, following the diffusion of the debate around sustainable development and the attention to environmental issues at international level, a whole lexicon, created around the semantics of green (eg. technicalities, loans, calques, neologisms, and Anglicisms), circulates through the current media to draw the attention to a promising new domain known as green economy. This contribution aims to examine the domain of green economy at lexical and semantic levels in the present media discourse productions in France and Italy and to identify those “ecology” items affecting the domain of economy. The analysis will shed light on the notions of boundary with reference to linguistic-historical, disciplinary and cultural aspects, which are constantly modified by the effect of contamination, hybridization, nuances, and semantic migration.

Abstract
The analysis will shed light on the notions of boundary with reference to linguistic-historical, disciplinary and cultural aspects, which are constantly modified by the effect of contamination, hybridization, nuances, and semantic migration.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
