The tourism represents a source for the economic development of a territory and its qualification, as it impacts both on employment and qualification aspects. Our research is located in this area of action. The research purpose is to analyze the business model of an innovative tour operator, able both to meet customer needs – thanks to its technology standards – and to enhance its territory. This business model could be considered as a best practice for other companies belonging to the same sector or other ones linked to the territory. We used the case study method. We analyzed Somewhere Tours & Events, which operates in a niche market permitting customers to discover new places and stories linked to the territory. Its business model combines innovation to tradition within a certain territory. Indeed – in isolation terms – an innovative strategy does not permit to reach a competitive advantage, while only the attachment to the territory does not allow to exploit every new opportunity.
