The aim of this contribution is to single out the features of the European Banking Union that are most problematic to achieve solidarity among member States. The focus will be on three elements of the European Banking Union where solidarity proves particularly difficult to be achieved: the Single Resolution Fund, the direct recapitalization instrument of the European Stability Mechanism and the European Deposit Insurance Scheme.
