In the light of specific innovative discourse practice enacted by contemporary museums, the main concern of this study is to investigate how Museum Discourse orients to human rights discourse, notably to children’s rights as universally set in the 1989 United Nations Convention on Children’s Rights. Concentrating on the rights spelled out by the Convention in terms of culture, development, education, leisure and participation, this study analyses how Museum Discourse addresses children and adolescents.
