In 1990 a member of the Casale Monferrato section of the Italian Alpine Club traced a hiking trail that could connect three great architectural and religious buildings behind the watershed ridge. This is found directly south of the Po river course in the Piedmont region up until Turin, where one finds the Basilica of Superga, the abbey Vezzolano and the Sacro Monte of Crea. Since 2013 this trail has been named “The Po River Hill’s Walk”. With a shared process to increase the value of natural and cultural landscape, the project hierarchizes the existing path net. As a regional trail in national network and as a slow way connection of four UNESCO sites, this project tests new ways for discovering the territory, also through art and creativity languages.

Abstract
In 1990 a member of the Casale Monferrato section of the Italian Alpine Club traced a hiking trail that could connect three great architectural and religious buildings behind the watershed ridge. This is found directly south of the Po river course in the Piedmont region up until Turin, where one finds the Basilica of Superga, the abbey Vezzolano and the Sacro Monte of Crea. Since 2013 this trail has been named “The Po River Hill’s Walk”. With a shared process to increase the value of natural and cultural landscape, the project hierarchizes the existing path net. As a regional trail in national network and as a slow way connection of four UNESCO sites, this project tests new ways for discovering the territory, also through art and creativity languages.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
