«Un guizzo di fiamma nella prigione del lucido cristallo»: «Per l’idea» letteratura e socialismo a Torino

Between February 1896 and December 1897 a group of intellectuals in Turin, under the guidance of Gustavo Balsamo-Crivelli, created «Per l’Idea», a monthly literary supplement to the «Grido del Popolo.» The articles in this magazine, which can to all intents and purposes be considered courageous experiments in socialist literature, tackled themes and conducted social battles that explored new forms of literature many of which have remained with us long after the magazine stopped being printed.
