This paper focuses on some interactional dynamics that are developed in oral mediation withinmultilingual parliamentary debate. It will first define what is meant by oral mediation, then proceed to analyze the type of mediated communication that takes place in the European Parliament, where the intervention of an interpreter is necessary, otherwise communication would not be possible, and finally analyze the various actors that are involved in parliamentary sessions. It will conclude with examples that highlight possible processes of interaction among speaker, audience and interpreter.
