The present paper analyzes, first of all, some of the most common practical strategies used nowadays against the process of aging (starting from Aubrey de Grey’s studies); it then proceeds to bring to light other scientific and technological theories that, aiming at overcoming the human with the posthuman in the near future, try to find the elixir of eternal life and youth. Our final aim is to give to the reader a fairly complete overview of the relationship between human enhancement and end of life in the area both of scientific and humanistic research.
