Abstract

Emotion and language, both of them constituting an integrated part of human behavior, social interaction, and culture, are inextricably intertwined in a variegated way, which is codified by grammar. Several parameters, such as individual and sociolinguistic variables, together with cultural background, affect the grammatical expressions of emotion, often paralleled by diverse means of expressing it, such as the expression of eyes and face, gaze, body posture, gestures, tears, smiles, and laughter.
