The paper offers some considerations about the reception of Indian Philosophy in two works by Piero Martinetti, mainly the hermeneutical implications of the Italian rendering of such keywords from samkhya system as sattva, rajas, tamas, prakrti, purusa; the evaluation of mutual influence between Buddhist and Hinduist thought in the development of Indian Philosophy; and the methodological need to keep apart the contribution of Theosophical thought from Indian Philosophy in the strictest sense of the term.
